Transformational Betting for 2026

Pace the key on another great day of racing.

Following our 2 winners from 3 on Boxing Day and a 23.3pt profit which ensures another profit making month I believe there is just one outstanding bet on another great day of racing.

With the continuance of conditions that favour horses with pace throughout the Christmas period, rather than mud lovers, the potential for winners to put up repeat performances with a quick turnaround increases.

The proviso is that contests are run at an even or strong pace. The fact is, good or good-to-soft conditions make it easier for jockeys to get away with setting a slow pace at the start of races, allowing them to maintain the advantage and “steal the race” from the front. In these cases the winners can be flattered and therefore struggle to follow up.

A further factor of the faster conditions is the potential for horses to turn out quickly and follow up victories with just a short turn around in time.

That fact was proven on Thursday when East India Express followed up a win at Ascot just 5 days previously, winning comfortably at Kempton.

At Chepstow in the 12.30, although racing under softer conditions King William Rufus can follow up likewise after winning at Ascot last weekend. Unlike East India Express who didn’t have a penalty as he had won a conditional jockeys event. That is largely negated by Freddie Gordon’s 5lb claim, and despite the burden of 12st I believe he is considerably better than his rivals, which largely look thoroughly exposed. His victory over Fosal was ran in a time and a style that is far greater than a horse qualified to run in 0-115 race.

I am not worried about the ground or the track as the last time he raced on soft ground was at Chepstow when he finished 3rd beaten 6L and 7L by Gidleigh Park and The Jukebox Man. I also think Gordon can get an uncontested lead with the only other pace setters needing bottomless ground.

I recommend a 2pt win bet at the 7/2 currently on offer.
