Its great to have Marquand back on board after his spell in Japan and he gets back into swing with 3 rides for the yard at Kempton on Wednesday evening.
He kicks off with what looks likely to be a short priced favourite aboard Purple Rainbow, owned by the King in the 5.30 at Kempton.
Although showing promise on debut the filly found herself in front, which was surprising and although the foggy conditions made it difficult to assess i think she was flattered by her finishing position in what i felt was a poor quality race.
At the prices Mehmas Shy Angel and Arabian Leopard have shown more promise and i expect them to prove too good for the Haggas 3yo.
At odds of 6/4 or less i will be a layer not a backer
Mystery of Love in the ownership of Clipper Logistics reappears in Division 2 at 6.00pm. Again i was unimpressed by her second run, seemingly still needing the experience and only running on in the final furlong despite running close to the favoured stand rail at Southwell.
Two of today’s rivals Aziyna and Only One Blue both run with promise in a Southwell maiden over 1m in a race that i thought had a good deal of quality. I can’t split the two but in my opinion that is a race to follow and once again i i am far from confident Mystery of Love will beat either of those two.

Finally Choreographic goes to post in the 3yo handicap at 7.30. This links in with the form of Carbine Harvester.
I am of the opinion that the cards fell right for that horse at Lingfield, especially with the favourite not performing and those drawn low being held up. This will be ran at a frantic pace and Marquand will have to tuck in from stall 10 and hope for a pace collapse inside the final furlong. If that should happen I can see Sweet Fantastic ridden by a top form Callum Sheppard being in pole position to pick up the pieces.
