The horses we have backed from the yard so far this month have been notable only by the misfortune they have bought to our table!

Simple Getaway somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and then was unable to back up that run 9 days later when going off odds on and costing us a nice 8pt double with the other leg winning.

Alcedo went to Exeter fully expected to show improved form for the Step up to 3m and didn’t stay and Denmat went too quick too soon at Warwick and got outstayed .

Our other beaten selection The Famous Five was tenderly handled at Chepstow with Charlie Deutsch seemingly intent on getting him jumping well and having given the leaders too much rope couldn’t haul them in over the final 3f

I am of the opinion that 2m on heavy ground are the ideal conditions for the 7yo and over a course and distance where he has previously been successful he can give us a win a long overdue win from a yard that remains in tip top form. There should be a good pace from the confirmed front running Dulhallow Paddy and i expect Deutsch to lie up close to the pace and go and win the race between the last two.
