As Cheltenham 2025 is quickly done and dusted and the ante-post merry go round for the 2026 event begins – focus moves towards the 2025 flat season.
At Somerville Lodge the 2yo’s are starting to be ridden for the first time and the older horses stepping up work towards targets that quickly feature on the upcoming calendar.
The introduction to the entries this week of the Ladyship filly Kinswoman a half sister to Audience by Mehmas and Camtank a Camelot colt out of Janey Muddles closely related to multiple winners are two potentially high quality debutants
Kinswoman has two entries in the 5.10 at Wolverhampton on Friday and 7.00 on Saturday and Camtank is entered in the 5.30 at Southwell also on Friday. As always with Haggas first time out runners these 3yo’s are not betting opportunities but are horses to very much keep in mind for future races.
Two possible opportunities appear at Southwell on Saturday in the 5.45 Regalian may attempt to defy a penalty for winning a very weak novice race on debut. Also Raneen who showed promise last weekend at Lingfield is entered in a Class 4 handicap at 6.45, although also entered is Andrew Balding’s Humam who will be a short price following his victory over the impressive next time out winner Rebels Gamble.
Further updates on on Thursday after declarations are confirmed.
