No Hiding – Invincible Melody

Its strange to see Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan not teaming up at Newmarket on the first day of the Craven meeting, but as i have mentioned in previous articles the big guns from the yard are not usually fired until the last weekend of the month at Sandown Park.

But Moon over Miami won well at Newbury and the team introduce a very nice debutante owned by the King in what looks a red hot Wood Ditton on Wednesday,

However, they send the improving 3yo Invincible Melody to Kempton on Tuesday evening instead of taking up an entry in the Ripon Silver Bowl handicap at Ripon on Thursday. Ryan goes to Kempton to take this ride.

Possible due to the fact that he has been runner up on his last three outings and also early money for second favourite Knights Gold from the in form Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole Invincible Melody had drifted to a very generous price of 5/2.

Thats too big to ignore he has a least 5lb in hand over his rivals and there is nothing in his three 2nd place finishes to suggest he is not putting it in at the end of his races. In fact he has shown steady improvement in all three races none of which have been matched by any of his rivals .

I think he should be a 6/4 chance hence the reason why the 5/2 has been taken and 2/1 is the best price on offer which is still good value,and I expect this to be our first Ralph Beckett winner of many as the season develops.
