The racing on Tuesday will be packed full of future winners and bets for us. The Haggas yard run 4 horses . 3 3yo’s and 1 unraced 2yo
- Tuesday, 22 April 2025 – 2:23 Magic Box(Overnight) at Yarmouth British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes (GBB Race)–
- Tuesday, 22 April 2025 – 3:55 The King’s Falcon(Overnight) at Epsom Weatherbys Digital Solutions Novice Stakes (GBB Race)–
- Tuesday, 22 April 2025 – 4:25 Sir William(Overnight) at Epsom Betfred Nifty 50 Handicap–
- Tuesday, 22 April 2025 – 4:38 Maelstrom(Overnight) at Yarmouth Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap
I am going to watch them all, although The Kings Falcon will go off favourite and Sir William is a horse i definitely want to back this season.
Each of them fit into the category of ‘ will be better for run’. Epsom is also the track that the Haggas yard has the worse strike rate of any in the country and is a course that he uses to further educate his horses.
Magic Box is an early 2yo starter for the yard – but we will only know how good he is after the race so another to watch, even if heavily backed in the market
The Thirsk card is interesting – watch out for Michael Dodds runners at the track although he has had a slow start to the season and I expect his runners on Tuesday will be better for there run and are more likely to win at a meeting at the same track on their next outing.
Yarmouth also features a very interesting 3yo handicap due off at 15.33 which looks likely to be ran at a strong pace and Babylon, Divot, Keble Spirit and Requiem all look potential improvers in future races. If there were significant market moves for any of them it will be worth noting.
Its back to Epsom for our first bet of the week and I expect Rathgar and David Probert to reverse the form of the Doncaster handicap contested by four of his six rivals this afternoon. City of Delight pounced late to nab Magico on the line with Stressfree 4th, Rathgar was 5th and Kings Code 8th.
The value of the form has already been boosted by Kings Code who won at Pontefract. Rathgar is better off at the weights with the other 4 but more significantly is the only pace setter in the race and the only runner in the field with experience at the track together with winning form on undulating tracks.
Probert is an excellent judge of pace and i fully expect him to dictate steady fractions and with all the other runners suited by a strong gallop and coming from off the pace – he can steal victory in the days feature for the Jack Channon yard that remains in great form.
William Hill have opened up at 6/1, although there are only 7 runners 1/4 odds 1-2 is fine and i am happy with any price 4/1 or bigger
Tuesday Recommended Bet Rathgar 1pt ew 1/4 odds 1,2 14.45 Epsom Opening price 6/1 W Hill 8/1 Bet 365 1-2-3
