Just a note too new subscribers .. this post will be updated often 2 or 3 times in a day before racing where there are significant market moves.
First Update 9.00am
Early move for Sir William as predicted now 9/2 in the 4.25
The Kings Falcon 6/4 on the drift in the 3.55
Rathgar 15/2 and steady early market in the 2.45.
Requiem 3.33 Y the big mover in the race I said watch out for gambles
Second Update 1.15 pm
Big move for the Haggas horse Maelstrom in the 4.38 Yarmouth, this is one of probably 15-20 Haggas three year olds that start the season well handicapped have been ‘educated’ and given time to develop as 2yo’s.
My experience of this yard that it is better to wait until after there first outing as 3yo’s before investing.
This season so far Haggas horses running for the first time as 3yo’s on the Turf having ran as 2yo’s
Raneen U/P 10/1
Regalian 3rd 2/1
Crown of Oaks 3rd 8/11 – 11/8
Gold Cup Day U/P 6/1
Archivist 2nd 9/4 – 15/8
Nardra U/P 10/1 – 11/4
Raafedd U/P 10/1
Yabhar U/P 8/1
Cairdeas 3rd 3/1
Sky Majesty 3rd 6/4
First Instinct 3rd 7/1
Thats 0-11 and from 11 unraced 3yo’s making their debut only 1 has won Consecrated 5/2
Thats one 5/2 winner from 22
The 4 winning 3yos on the Turf all had run as 3 yo’s on the AW
It will change as the horses generally become fitter but you can understand given the stats why i want to wait and see before investing and have ignored the gambles today on Sir William and Maelstrom , both horses i am sure we will be backing as 3yo’s if they show promise and if win this afternoon.
The other late morning gambles on John Gosden’s Keble Spirit in the 15.33 Yarmouth and on Andrew Balding’s Best Adventure in the 4.25 look to be solid money from the right sources.
Rathgar has been backed from 8/1 into 6/1.
Have a good day … Russ
