Hollie Doyle rode a superb 4 timer at Wolverhampton on Saturday including an all the way success on our last bet French Sand. I anticipate her great run of form to continue this week. Significantly she heads to Lingfield Park rather than Wolverhampton for 4 rides on Monday.
Keep an eye out if there is a big market move for her ride on Educator in the 3.15. This horse was once rated 90 when trained by William Haggas running in Class 2 handicaps. He was an eyecatcher over hurdles under the stewardship of Henrietta Knight and returns to the flat off a mark of 73. Knights horses have ran well over the last fortnight and running first time after a wind op – a strong market move for the 6yo could be worth noting.
Our first bet of the week is though 30 minutes earlier where she teams up with the inform Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole team to ride Diamondonthehill.
The 7yo has ran very well on the last two occasions in better races than this one, but has been dropped to a mark of 83 and is down in grade from 3 to 4.
Drawn in 7 I expect Hollie to get some cover but then produce the gelding down the hill to record his first win for the yard since joining them in December. He should outclass this field and a price of 2/1 or higher is value.
Onto the finale where i expect Hollie to be on the favourite Calinthe as she teams up with her No 1 retainer Archie Watson who is on a breath taking run of form with 8 winners from his last 15 runners plus 4 runners up.
The 4yo returned to form ridden by Luke Morris when beaten a head last time out. He has been put up 2lb for that run but is reunited with Hollie Doyle here at Lingfield for the first time since winning over course and distance last season and from stall 2 Hollie will attempt to make all the running
However i think she will caught by a power packed finish from Rosa Ryan who has his first ride for West Isley trainer Denis Coakley on Hoornblower. The 6yo is not easy to train but won over C/D first time out last season following a drop of 12lb by the handicapper. He is only 4lb higher on Monday and the yard who landed a gamble with another horse Tribal Rhythm at Bath last week also on seasonal debut i think will go for a repeat here. The stable jockey George Bass is riding at the meeting and the booking of Rossa is very significant.
Recommended Bets:
2pt win Diamondonthehill 2.45 Lingfield
1pt win Hoornblower 5.20 Lingfield
Haggas runners on Monday
Things could not be going better with the Haggas predictions over the last 48 hours – yes there have been a couple of short priced winners that have scrapped home unbacked but there have been over half a dozen horses heavily supported that we have avoided. I think punters are backing Haggas blind – we know better. His record at Southwell is poor and unfortunately bookies cleaned up with support for the yard that statistically was not justified.
No harm to subscribers done at all – and we move onto Monday’s entries. Subscribers will pretty much know the script by now both horses are 3yo’s making their seasonal debut. A watching brief only therefore on:
Magical Idea 2.45 Lingfield and
Noble Horizon 6.00 Windsor.
Both are up against John Gosden trained odds on favourites – but i should mention Noble Horizon was very promising on debut and is expected to run well
