William Haggas rarely sends runners to the seaside course before the summer and his record in 3yo handicaps before June is two winners from just three – the other was 2nd.
He sends Santorini Star for Brighton and Hove Albion football club owner Tony Bloom and the tip must be taken. The 3yo filly ticks all the boxes having had a winter all weather campaign. We were on her at Lingfield when she landed a gamble but was slightly disappointing when failing to back that up on her latest outing.
That form has worked out well and the fast ground and roller coaster track should suit her. I expect Tom Marquand to keep it simple and be up with the pace throughout.
There is a possibility that 7lb claimer Jack Callan will announce himself at Brighton today as the apprentice to follow this season and he could have 3 winners. I want to have a saver on his mount Zayina
Recommended Bet Santorini Star 2pt win 1/2 point saver Zayina.
Nottingham has a good card for punters but the one I like most is the finale at 5.38 where Beach Point can sign off the afternoon with a win for Oisin Murphy and William Knight.
His first outing this season at Yarmouth was full of promise and suggests he will be better than his current mark of 68. The 4th home has since won twice. That gets him into this 0-70 this afternoon and I expect him to get his first win of the season for a yard that is about to hit top form. He is another that will be prominently ridden.
2pt win Bet Beach Point 5.38 Nottingham.
