17 runners 6 winners 6 runners up 1 3rd place with 4 unplaced horses sent off at 25/1 14/1 17/2 8/1

This suggests that he is sending potentially well handicapped largely unexposed horses to the track that win or go close if supported in the market.

The excellent Jason Watson has already landed two nice gambles for us this season with Double Rush and Candyman Stan and he can steer home another on the Andrew Balding trained Kingmaker in the Goodwood 4.25

The 3yo will be suited to the step up to 10F in a race that looks certain to be ran at a strong pace. The form of his promising 5th at Southwell when staying on over 8f reads very well.

It was a race where most of the field was running for a handicap mark

In third place was Killenaule who then went to contest what will probably turn out to be one of the best Novice Stakes races of the season the race won by Andrew Balding’s Point of Destiny with the William Haggas trained Crown of Oaks in 3rd. Killenaule finished 6th only beaten just over 2l – in 7th was Mighty Boy who was the first to highlight the form when 4th at 18/1 in a hot handicap at Sandown.

As subscribers know there are selected horses from the Haggas yard that i use to create multiple collateral form lines and Crown of Oaks is one of them.

In 4th place was Go Out who was an eyecatcher when running for a handicap mark next time out at Chelmsford. In 7th beaten over 7L by Kingmaker was Un Bredon Feasa who has since won a handicap off 63 and gone close off 68 which more than suggests Kingmakers rating of 68 is lenient.

A mark of 68 could easily under estimate the scope Kingmaker has to improve and the fact he has been sent to Goodwood on handicap debut also suggests the yard believe he is off a winnable mark.

Bet 365 have opened the colt at 9/2 Paddy Power is 5/1 which seems fair. with the volatility in the early market I have placed 1pt at 9/2 ( cant get on PP) and will place the other 1pt at BoG in the morning.
