Nottingham is a preferred track for many leading trainers to introduce or give experience to expensive well bred horses in their charge.
On Tuesday the Maiden at 3.32 and the Novice Stakes at 4.32 feature runners from Charlie Appleby Saaed Bin Suroor and William Haggas who runs the extremely well bred unraced High Degree in the 3.32 and the once raced Earthwatch, Golden Handshake and the unraced Tenability in the 4.32.
I expect all four to been given educational runs without being ready to win. In the 3.32 Kings Charter from the Charlie Appleby yard has the experience and the form to win first time out this season and in the 4.32 Desert Shadow can improve on his recent promising AW run behind the useful Kurakka.
A couple catch my eye tomorrow; at Nottingham in the 5.05 Man of La Mancha is expected to be a winning first ride for the Ralph Beckett yard for the new apprentice attached to the stable, Jack Dace. The price of 6/5 is very unlikely to drift to our minimum 7/4 price.
Dace son of trainer Luke Dace is a very useful young 7lb claimer and should be noted when riding for the yard in handicaps.
At Lingfield their is a huge advantage in racing against the stand rail on the straight course on the Turf and in the 4.40 Mart drawn in 5 of 5 is of interest for David Probert and the top class Dylan Cunha. Probert is 2 from 8 for Cunha and rode this horse to win here on the AW. But Musica who won at Redcar on Monday has been declared and potentially this will result in a pace duel, that could set this up for Honour Your Dreams. Or Musica maybe pulled out which would wreck the market. I will watch and not bet.
