Haggas Sunday update.

Three runners for the yard this afternoon at Nottingham.

In the 5.00 Supermodel – goes to the post for her first outing in 2025. Her two runs last season where on heavy ground but i don’t think that is vital. However , regular readers will know we have not backed 3yo’s from the yard on their first outing of the year and it is a policy that has been proven to be correct on numerous occasions with just a couple of exceptions.

Another rule that has saved us a lot of money is not to back horses from the yard on debut. I suppose one will win soon just by the law of averages and there has been money for Forever Penywern in the 2.55 -it is joint favourite.

This was also the case on Friday with Sharp Move backed from 9/2 into 7/4 but never at any stage of the race looking likely to win. I can only repeat the Haggas horses are not trained to win on debut and no matter what the market says it is not informed money.

This looks a weak maiden and it is of course possible Forever Penywren could win but nothing would tempt me to back it or any other Haggas trained horse first time out.

Molten Sea has her second outing of the season in the 1m6f Handicap at 4.30. She will improve for her run at Newbury but she needs 2m on a tight track and the galloping nature of the Nottingham track won’t help. She has an each way chance but i will watch not play.

A word on Bowmark our bet in the French Derby at 4.05 the official going in France is always forecast a lot softer than in the UK. I am assured with a dry day forecast the ground is perfect good ground and would have no soft in the description if it was in the Uk.
