Transformational Betting for 2026

Additional 1pt Bet !!

It has been almost impossible to get realistic prices before the morning of the races this week at Ascot and even then the bookmakers have slashed odds with only the smallest hint of serious cash being laid down.

The gambles on several Wathnan runners have been incredible, (all lost), as has the money for Ralph Beckett runners who have shown themselves to be really out of form.

I face a real dilemma about when to advise subscribers to get on, when i got the word through that todays Britannia Stakes bet on Raafedd was well fancied it was 12/1 by the time i had posted it was 15/2 and this morning with one firm it was 7/2 although generally 11/2.

Over the next few 3 days Haggas is likely to send off 6 horses that will be favourite or close to favourite in six top handicaps !!

Probably the best advice if you can is to wait until nearer the off and back on the exchanges as the prices there are holding up.

As i said last night all these horses are well fancied and although i won’t count returns towards profit and loss its worth doing some each way multiples.

The six horses concerned with recommended stakes for single bets are as follows:

3.05 Ascot Thursday Merchant 2pt ew Advised 5/1

5.00 Ascot Thursday Raafedd 2pt ew Advised 15/2

5.00 Ascot Friday Supermodel 1pt ew Advised 8/1

6.10 Ascot Friday Realign 2pt ew Advised 4/1

5.00 Ascot Saturday 2pt ew More Thunder Advised 6/1

5.35 Ascot Saturday 3pt ew Archivist Advised 8/1

There will be bets away from Ascot on both Friday and Saturday.

Update for Ascot Thursday

The series of massive price cuts by the bookmakers continues – it is unprecedented and i doubt this is reflective of a huge weight of money and those of you that bet on the exchanges maybe better of waiting nearer the off time before getting involved

Albany Stakes 2.30

Needless to say Charles Darwin is rock solid having been 13/8 yesterday is now 8/11. The American horse Sandals Song has attracted ew money 16/1 into 10/1 . The rest are on the drift

King George Handicap Stakes 3.05

Merchant has drifted from 9/4 out to 3/1 – it had too, strong support for Sing Us A Song and Gunship. Both Merchant and Sing Us A Song have high draws which is normally an advantage. Oisin Murphy in stall 10 may look to steal a march on the other two who will be produced late.

Stable confidence remains high for Merchant

3.40 Ribblesdale

Very quiet market with no real movement.

4.20 Gold Cup

Strong support for Trawlerman but Illinois is very weak in the market not just because of the money for Trawlerman. The punters latching onto Gosden expecting the brilliant week for the yard to continue. The French horses seem to have found the ground too fast this week but there is support for Candelari

Hard to believe but Illinois could go off 3rd favourite.

5.00 Britannia Stakes

The bookies are running scared fearing another My Cloud gamble from yesterday.

Raafedd, Arabian Story, Parole D’Or all cut from their prices yesterday evening.

5.35 Hampton Court

The markets have settled down with Detain at the head, although there is weakness around High Stock.

6.10 Buckingham Palace

The money this morning has been for the Oisin Murphy mount Never So Brave 10/1 into 9/2 which is not surprising as he is riding brilliantly.

Decided to have 1pt saver Never So Brave 6.10

One note of caution – some years on Day 3 the draw bias for high numbers on the straight course shifts towards those drawn in the middle. Maybe worth a check where Ryan Moore heads in the opener in the Albany (Charles Darwin drawn high) which opens the card on the straight course.

More Bets away from Ascot on Friday to follow this evening.
