Transformational Betting for 2026

Quiet week but 3 Bets Friday kicks off busy weekend.

It’s been a frustrating period for the Haggas yard since the victory of Merchant . It was summed up yesterday by our first bet of the week on Cairdeas. Normally a hold up horse he burst out of the stalls and charged through the first 2f losing any chance of victory . Friday and Saturday offers numerous opportunities – on a busy weekend.

The Haggas team sends 4 horses to post on Friday – 2 go to the feature card at Sandown and 1 each at Doncaster and Haydock.

Let’s start at Sandown where Caviar Heights makes his long awaited stable debut after joining the yard from Karl Burke’s having previously been with Andrew Balding. The 4yo has had numerous entries. On balance it looks like they have been waiting for softer ground which they haven’t got here and the colt is running probably because the uphill finish tends to negate some of the impacts of fast ground.

He will need to run a lifetime best to beat Checkandchallenge and Windlord if the favourites run to form and I won’t be backing him.

No Bet Recommended.

Term of Endearment in the 4.45 has to make similar improvement. However there are negatives about the higher rated horses in the contest either the trip and or the ground.

There is a very good chance the 4yo, who will head to Australia later this year, will get an easy lead in front and with a chance the extra trip will bring improvement, she is worth a bet at around 5/2 having already been backed in from 5/1.

Recommended Bet 2pt win Term of Endearment.BoG

At Doncaster in the 2.50 Klassleader will look to step up on a promising debut.

This doesn’t look a strong maiden. Cieran Fallon has some good rides at the meeting but Klassreader was very green on debut and there could be one or two big improvers against him and it’s a race where it is best to watch the market before taking a view on a bet.

No Bet Recommend Klassleader

30 minutes later the very well handicapped Hornsea Bay can win for Fallon and the Horse watchers.

Having not had conditions in his favour so far this season the 3yo looks well handicapped and looks to have been sent here rather than take on board stiffer opposition at Newmarket and York next week.

2pt win Hornsea Bay 3.20 Doncaster

Finally the day has arrived where Altmore has the right conditions to get back into the winners enclosure after his last win nearly a year ago.

Dropped to a mark of 82 he is drawn alongside two very strong pacesetters has fast ground, a flat track and 7f . He was hugely impressive when he won off a mark of 77 and now just 5lb higher he is back to a mark that can see him get him back in the winners enclosure.

Recommended Bet 1pt ew Altmore 8.40 Haydock.

An early bet for Saturday in the 1m handicap at Sandown at 2.25 Treasure Time rates a 3pt bet to make up for being balloted out of the Hunt Cup. More to follow on Saturday morning at 8.30am
