Transformational Betting for 2026

Early Hagtag for Friday plus one for Saturday…

Although the rain arrived 10 minutes too late for Maximised we continue to enjoy Goodwood with a majority of the decisions correct, including the decisions to take a watching brief on Lake Forest, High Degree and Sea Force who all ran well and would have paid out ew money. The yard remains in excellent form. The victory of Merchant another highlight.

Friday if the forecast is accurate should see the ground dry too soft from heavy and that shouldn’t be a problem for a couple of the Haggas runners.

Best of the day is Yabher in the finale at 4.55. The improving 3yo has made rapid progress since being gelded and landed a very nice 3pt touch for us at Sandown. He got us out of a hole on what was a very poor Saturday, when i made two of the worst decisions of the season advising 3pt bets on Treasure Time and Sir Lowry’s Pass which greatly over estimated the chances of both.

I know the yard are not in anyway worried about the ground and the 6/1 early price 1-4 places is a good price. I think Mdawi the Johnston 3yo who ran so well on Tuesday could be a danger and want to have a small saver.

Recommended Bets 2pt win Yabher 6/1 and 0.5pt saver Mdawi 15/2 4.55 Goodwood

In the Conditions race at 3.45 Godwinson goes for the hat trick. Another horse that won’t mind ground conditions and will have his supporters. However, I narrowly missed him at Doncaster in the Lincoln and thought he was too short at Newcastle. Today is his hardest task and it makes no sense for me to go in after watching him win twice already this season without ‘being on’ in easier races.

No Bet Recommended

The two maidens Seconds Out in the Bath 6.25 and Aeolion at Newmarket in the 7.27 don’t appeal as betting opportunities in two races where there looks to be no pace and its very difficult to assess the value of their previous runs. The form of Aeolion looks especially questionable and both are best watched without investment.

The ground on Saturday at Goodwood will be drying out further and could well be tacky but whatever the conditions it won’t impact Term of Endearment who owes us big time !!

She got beat on the line at 6/5 at York when we backed her at 3/1 and then failed to stay over 2m at Sandown when going off too fast.

She won this Group 2 over course and distance last year and she will have no problem with the ground. What really appeals to me is the make up of the race, where from a draw of stall 1 Marquand should be able to dictate the fractions as there is no obvious other pace angle.

Marquand will surely have his confidence restored after the Marchant win and he will relish this challenge of dictating the pace on this ultra tough mare. This race looks on a par with last years but i am happy though with a 1pt win bet at 4/1.

Recommended Bet Term of Endearment 1pt win 2.30 Goodwood Saturday.
