Transformational Betting for 2026

The Golden Mile a Damp Squib.

A month typified by drama, duly ended in dramatic fashion, with the rainstorms at Goodwood and as so often the case as our fortunes changed towards the end of the month, the luck went our way, with the nose success of what is our ‘horse of the season’ Merchant who landed the 3rd successive 3pt bet we have placed on the colt.

The run of success in the later half of the month enabled us to record a 5th successive month of profit and gives us every chance of hitting the 200pt target by the end of the year.

Born and raised in sight of Goodwood racecourse The Stewards Cup and The Golden Mile are traditionally the two races in the calendar I most like to solve.

Back in the day the Golden Mile was a simple task of waiting to see which one of trainer Luca Cumani’s improving 3yo’s was entered and start to back them.

Its more complicated in modern times with Mark Johnston coming nearest to replicating Cumani’s dominance and that team will be gutted that the back to form Dutch Decoy looks to have been balloted out.

Three horses headed the Ante Post market Fifth Column and Skukusa who was so impressive when winning twice in Ireland and Treasure Time who has been withdrawn

The weather has changed the complexion of the race Skukusa who loves cut in the ground and now stall 17 could have a significant edge.

Fifth Column has what would have been an ideal draw in 7 but this race and the rest of Friday and Saturdays cards will be the subject of many withdrawals and both days need a complete re-evaluation before any bets can be contemplated.

Further Update and Friday Bets from 8.00am Friday morning.
