Transformational Betting for 2026

Hag Tag Wednesday Summary

5 Somerville Lodge runners go to post on Wednesday – kicking off in the 2.05 at Carlisle with Gwen John in the 2.05 who should ensure the stable have at least one winner on the day.

She will be odds on, so no bet, but had she been available at 6/4 or bigger i would back her. She looked completely in love with racing when she won easily at Windsor and unless the Bethell newcomer is out of the top drawer she will surely follow up.

There are no complications with her unlike Berlinetta, our bet today, who was like Bambi on ice on the Chepstow undulations and in all honesty did well to be third.

2.05 Carlisle Gwen John No Bet ‘Odds On’

At York in the Great Voltigeur at 3.00 , the negative vibes surrounding the favourite Lambourn are gaining momentum. 10/11 has now been available throughout Tuesday afternoon, and i will be surprised if he is not odds against in the morning.

This would give Arabian Force a chance of being a super sub for Merchant as he looks sure to be suited by the step up to 12f on good to firm ground.

It is a shame Merchant had that hard race at Goodwood and misses this intended target, as he would have been a maximum bet in this race at 7/4 or possibly bigger.

With only 2 places available i will watch the race without a bet.

3.00 York Arabian Force No Bet Recommended

4.10 Santorini Star – Already advised 1pt win 5/1 + 1pt win BoG 8.00 am tomorrow.

Kempton 7.20 Rhapsody

Rhapsody has to go down as one of the most disappointing horses in the yard and is down to a Class 4 handicap having been 7/2 in a listed contest just 2 runs ago. Unfortunately she has shown nothing to suggest she has trained on and only a watching brief can be advised until she shows some semblance of being back to form.

No Bet Recommended

Kempton 7.50 Finalise

Finalise is put in as 5/4 favourite If there is market support behind any of the next three in the betting then ,take note, because i would oppose Finalise all day long. She is hugely flattered by her two second place runs and looks like a filly that needs 2m and heavy ground before she can win a race.

No Bet Recommended.
