There has been a market move for the only Haggas runner today Golden Trickett in the Southwell 8.00 backed into 2/1 from 7/2, which i suspect is more down to the Haggas factor rather than solid support.
Unsurprisingly with a filly from this yard she is bred to race to black type levels. A full sister to Saffron Beach she cost 1.650.000 Euros as a yearling and has shown only minor promise in her two runs the last of which was back in May where she raced to a meagre Timeform rating of 59. The race wasn’t run at a good pace and the form has not worked out.
The data suggests she is poor value. In the last 3 seasons Haggas has sent out 25 3yo’s horses to contest Novice or Maiden races at the track. Only 1 has won Solomon at 1-5 on. Significantly only 8 of the 25 have been sent off 1st or 2nd in the market, which is very low for the yard, whose horses are generally well backed.
In total they have 18 Novice and Maiden winners at the track but 14 of those was on the old polytrack surface before the change to Tapeta in 2021.
The winners were all favourite ( 3 were odds On) All were race fit and had previously achieved Timeform ratings of 81, 69, 84.
Although of course there is is chance her break will have enabled her time to strengthen up but with two opponents having achieved Timeform ratings in excess of 70 she has to find at least 14lb improvement and she is one i would mush sooner lay than back, especially at 2/1
No Bet Recommended.
