Friday Hag Tag Final Update..

The only good thing about our first 3pt Bet of the month on Thursday was it is unlikely that any other Bet this month can run as badly. Although i use the word ‘run’ loosely as Another Abbot basically refused to race after leaving the stalls and was eventually pulled up. I cannot recall a Haggas runner racing like that before and all we can do is put a line through it and move on.

We did though steer clear of stable losers Plenty of Time, Magic Box, Jewelry and Suhub and put in a good word for Advertised who won the Magic Box race having been available at 6/1.

Wild Dahlia did Win At Chelmsford but was long odds on with the second favourite in the market a non runner.

There are clear signs that the end of season weariness is kicking in and the stables strike rate will, as discussed a few weeks ago, drop below its normal high standards. It is down to 23% from being 30% plus for the last few months. Jewelry, Magic Box and Suhub were the first beaten in their races on Thursday.

The rain has arrived at Ascot overnight and will last through the day there has been enough to take the cautions approach and not back Wujjood completely unproven on going with Soft in the description. The decision was also made easy as her price of 3/1 is plenty short enough.

The other possible bet Mission Possible at Southwell is also now a NO BET Recommendation. The market very much suggests that her performance at Haydock is not one to forgive and forget and I will focus on better quality horses over the weekend.

No Bet Friday as we focus on Longchamp over the weekend.
