On Wednesday 3 2yo’s were sent off 1 or 2 in the market and all were beaten. Generally, this years crop is slow to come to hand and cannot be backed with confidence even after a run, as we have found out to our cost.
We also got it right not backing Dramatic Star who was a very short price at 7/4 but seemed to be given a ride with the future in mind at Kempton.
The yard did send out a first time out 2yo to win Zennor Storm at 6/1. He was able to win under a hands and heels ride but the race fell apart and the value of the win will need to be judged on the future performances of the runners in the race.
Onto Friday and the predicted heavy ground conditions may lead to some non-runners. Here is a run down on those declared.

Haggas runs 3 in the Doncaster 2.43 including Florida Suite who didn’t show enough on debut to think he can win this.

Onto the Handicaps, where the yard continues to run many horses that are heading for the Sales. On Friday that includes:
Golden Handshake, Maalstrom, ,Showering, Gwen John and Headmaster are not well handicapped and or out of form and are NO BET RECOMMENDATIONS
Which leaves 3 – Concert runs on the AW for the first time at Southwell in the nursery at 4.15 but hasn’t done enough of a mark of 76 to suggest the drop to 75 will enable her to win this.

Aeolian and Day Of Grace both run in 3.26 at Newbury and although Aeolian is out of form Day of Grace rates as the best bet this weekend. Proven on soft ground she was hugely impressive when winning over 10f at Goodwood and is 4lb well in with a 6lb penalty.

The only time they didn’t win the race was with Improve who was tailed off last and never ran again.
There is a strong field of 13 which should help with the price and it will be a big disappointment if she doesn’t complete the hat-trick.
