The Somerville Lodge team make a first appearance of the week at Chelmsford on Thursday evening but the chances of a Pre-Christmas payout look slim.
If proof where needed that the bookmakers slash the prices of Haggas trained runners without any justification it has been provided with the market move for Another Abbot who reappears in the Chelmsford 7.00, having been introduced at 15/2 and is now 3/1.
After he landed a nice touch for us in the Brighton Bullett back in August I would have snapped up the 3/1 in this poor Class 4 event and recommended a 3pt Bet.
However, since that day the horse has proved almost impossible to ride. Next time at Salisbury he pulled so hard Tom Marquand couldn’t ride him and he was almost pulled up and although a little better next time at Wolverhampton he still refused to settle.
Those backers of Another Abbot must have great faith and short memories, he is a definite no bet. Should the team have got him back it will be one of their best training feats of the season, but as it stands NO BET is recommended. Expect a big drift !!
The 2yo York Tower goes to post in the 4 runner Novice Stakes at 6.00. With two of the other 3 very well bred colts trained by Gosden and Appleby and with no idea about the pace this is another race for those punters who bet on the ‘virtual racing’ markets.
York Tower ran with promise on debut but is best watched today with the future in mind. No Bet Recommended.
The next entries are on Tuesday at Newcastle where there may well be an opportunity depending on the markets.
