The late withdrawal of West Wind Blows from yesterdays listed event at Kempton left the race without the expected strong pace and the subsequent drift of Dubai Honour from 11/8 – 3/1 told the story. That being said he ran a great race but couldn’t cope with the superior speed of Shader who reversed placings proving up for the battle.
Two go to post on Thursday at Chelmsford in the opener at 5.00pm Windbreaker with the owner retained jockey Shane Foley travelling over from Ireland to take the ride.
We have not enjoyed the best of AW campaigns this Autumn and with a weak pace looking likely to be a problem – the son of the Sea the Stars -will need further than the mile in time and with the main danger hailing from a Gosden yard introducing some smart 2yo debutants in the last couple of weeks, I am in no rush to get involved at 11/8.
Digub makes her handicap debut in the 8.30 off a mark of 81. However the fact the Cieren Fallon, who is riding brilliantly at the moment, has chosen to take the evening off more than suggests she is no good thing. With a couple of potentially very handicapped horses in Palando and Hitchinbrooke in opposition no bet is recommended.
