Scoville to take step into Group 3 class in his stride.

Scoville is very inexperienced winning 2 races from 2 starts in low grade maidens in this country.

On Sunday in the 4.15 at Deauville he is pitched straight into Group 3 company after his brilliant win at Newmarket last month. Unless he thought the 3yo was up to the task Haggas would not be running him at this level so early in his career.

His victory last time out was achieved in a time that only Group horses can usually run to and whilst there are risks due to his inexperience and being new to overseas travel, he is a potentially Group 1 horse and this could be a stepping stone to a very exciting Autumn.

There are plenty of dangers among the French runners and the Roger Varian trained Khafiz has won both his starts this season and is another potential contender.

The speed figure achieved by Scoville suggests he is top class and i am happy to follow him now until he is beaten. He is well drawn in stall 4 and I suspect Marquand will set out from the front and find out just how good the son of Too Darn Hot. Difficult to price up but i would hope around 5/2
