Transformational Betting for 2026

Kinswoman a Fast Lady to follow.

A good start to the week – following our Monday report some of you may well have secured some place money from Desert Cop 3rd at 22/1 ( he went odds on in running !!)

The only Somerville Lodge runner on Tuesday is York Tower in the Lingfield maiden at 5.50. He is a good price at 4/1. Ryan Moore has been booked to ride the impressive debut winner Always Happy, who is odds on but will need to be very good to give a penalty away to the Haggas gelding who looks likely to develop into a useful handicapper capable of contesting at least Class 3 races. We will stick to our ‘No bet Novice and Maiden’ rule.

No Bet Recommended Tuesday.

Wednesday offers a potentially big payday for Haggas followers with undoubtedly the best chance of multiple successes in a single midweek day this year

When Kinswoman failed to land the Class 4 6f handicap at Windsor last summer it was her 5th placed finish from her 5 races a sequence which began on a cold night at Wolverhampton in March.

The sister to the Lockinge winner Audience was becoming frustrating – on each occasion running well but finding just one rival too good.

Haggas as usual found the answer dropped down to 5f, starting off at that trip in a low grade Brighton maiden, she won 3 of her next 4 starts and was very unfortunate not to win the other . Her mark has increased to 88 but that still looks manageable especially considering that the horse that beat her back at Wolverhampton is the subsequent Group race winner in waiting Double Rush

Kinswoman has been given an entry in the Group 1 Kings Charles Stakes and although that looks ambitious she looks sure to get black type this season which starts for her in Yarmouth’s 5f class 3 sprint handicap at 2.40 on Wednesday.

The draw stall 5 in the field of 15 could be slightly higher but the pace in the race will be strong and set by Forager in 3 and Grandlad in 6 which should enable her to get a great toe into the race.

Kinswoman has been well entered up over the past few weeks and is ready for her seasonal debut. I suspect her initial main target is not Ascot and from a mark of 88 she can pick up a couple of nice handicaps before progressing into Group company.

She rates a 2pt win Bet on Wednesday the early price of 9/4 which is fair and should be the 2nd leg of a double for the Haggas team initiated by Klassleader 20 minutes earlier at York. Our Ante-post bet advised at 6/1 is now into 11/4 at the time of posting..

However that is just the start of a day when 6 further horses head to post with significant chances

Binhareer returns to action in the 2.55 at York the 5f Class 2 Churchill Tyres handicap. He started off life in 2025 as a run of a mill handicapper likely to be limited to Class 4 maybe Class 3 events.

However, he made huge strides with each race and even then when looking like a gelding that needed cut in the ground he defied logic and landed a big gamble on Good ground at York off a mark of 89. The handicapper didn’t miss it putting him up to 99. There is every chance he could improve still further and has also been given a Group 1 entry.

The Haggas record is poor in sprint handicaps at the Dante meeting but this is a year when many of the old methods are being changed due to the large increase in the number of 4yo’s remaining in training. The form of Binhareer’s course and distance win was boosted by the win of Pure Time on Monday evening. Binhareer has a habit of defying expectations, I don’t want it to go off unbacked, but won’t make the mistake of backing it each way if it proves to need the race on ground that could be fast enough.

0.5 win bet Binhareer 2.55 York

In the Yarmouth 3.18 Diplomata is the first Haggas 2yo to run in 2026. The grey filly by Havana Grey is bred for pure speed. As followers are aware backing Haggas 2yo’s first time out is like supporting a bookmakers pension fund, however the juveniles that start off in April and May are reasonably successful if attracting support with nearly 30% winning if starting as 1 and 2 in the market. Over the past 10 years that still results in a level stakes loss and I will stick to the no bet on unraced 2yo’s rule but won’t be surprised if she bolts in. I remember Relief Rally doing just that at Windsor in 2023.

Diplomata No Bet 3.18 Yarmouth

Plenty of runners still to come and Elmonjed takes his chance in the Group 2 Minster stakes at 3.30. This was due to be the comeback race of the highly rated Almaraq who was brought down at York in the Garrowby Stakes last Autumn but the ground is too fast for the 4yo thankfully now fully recovered.

Perversely his stable mate Elmonjed also in the ownership of Shadwell Estates won the Garrowby. Despite being ultra consistent this is a tough test for the 5yo who will give it 100% but even odds of 16/1 are not tempting.

No Bet Recommended.

Sea the Storm takes a big step up in grade in the Group 3 Musidora Stakes at 4.05. This is a case of testing the water for this 3yo filly who is ultra tough and if a couple of the leading fancies under perform she could pick up the pieces. Legacy Link and Felicitous look potential Group 1 fillies and with only 6 runners in the field , there is no each way opportunity.

No Bet Recommended.

The maiden fillies Creative Queen in the Yarmouth 3.57 and Darzah in the 6.12 at Bath complete the team on a busy day but with no need to break our No Bet Maidens and Novices rule.

No Bet Recommended.
