As expected the bookmakers have taken no chances with Adamlyi and he has been put in at around Even money against Runman in the Nottingham Novice Stakes at 2.20. I thought the hope of getting 7/4 or bigger was unlikely so it looks like a No Bet race.
On Monday we correctly assessed the chance of Perfect Ruler on her first handicap start at Redcar. She drifted from 15/8 to 10/3 – that won’t happen next time out and her run in 5th place was very eye catching. With that run behind her she looks a very good bet next time out from her mark of 60.
We also advised a watching brief on Chimes of Thunder who was well beaten at Windsor despite being backed into 6/4 favourite. I normally take a cautious approach with 3yo fillies from the yard who run very well on seasonal debut and are immediately stepped up in class.
If they run in the same or lower grade Song of Clouds, and Darzah being two examples this season, they have a great chance of winning..
In addition to Chimes of Thunder you can add Silver Lake beaten at 5/6 Bintsaleh and Sea the Storm who disappointed when upped in class for their second races.
Despite a plethora of races on Wednesday Somerville Lodge takes a day off – that won’t be the case on Thursday, Friday and Saturday where there are numerous entries from the yard and several potential betting opportunities.
No Bets Tuesday and Wednesday
