Transformational Betting for 2026

Monday Windsor Gamble

I will cover off the Monday runners and also a couple declared for Tuesday away from the Royal meeting before posting again with the information for Tuesday at Ascot.

I have developed something of a love hate relationship with Another Abbot who has won three times for us in his career but also blotted his copybook in no uncertain manner when he was unrideable at Salisbury last Autumn. Somerville Lodge appears to have found the secret to him with the fitting of ear plugs which are left on during the race.

His win at Yarmouth when he beat subsequent winner Neyva’s Angel was far more comfortable than the winning margin of a head and because the front pair were 7L clear of the 3rd he was put up 5lb to a mark of 87, which still looks manageable.

This year the yards sprinters are carrying all before them in races up to 7F. Since the yard hit top form towards the end of May from when Another Abbot won at Yarmouth – the record with all runners in races excluding novices and Maidens between 5f and 7f sent off 1,2,3,4 in the market is 4th, Won, Won, Won, 6th, Won, Won, Won.

That is ample reason to back Another Abbot in the Windsor 7.00 on Monday and also offers serious chances for the likes of Binhareer, Saber Strike, and Lake Forest who will meet that criteria and hopefully add to the sequence at Royal Ascot.

Another Abbot is following the path of Elmonjed who won the final of this Fitzdares Sprint Series off a mark of 89 before progressing this year to be a Group 2 winner rated 105. I don’t think Another Abbot has the mentality to match that progress and given his quirks, the ‘next race’ will always be the main target.

The current mark of 87 looks within his capability. It is his first step into Class 3 company but recorded an RPR of 92 at Yarmouth and he can add further to the Ascot bank by recording a 4th victory of his career.

Also at Windsor on Monday Adalo as his second outing in the Novice Stakes at 6.30. The step up in trip to 10f will suit the gelding but he looks a type that will have a winning chance as a handicapper when tackling distances of 12f+possibly with cut in the ground

Tuesday away from Ascot

On Tuesday at Beverley in the Maiden at 7.00pm Lorca’s Waltz has his first outing on turf having shown little on two AW outings in the winter. The chestnut gelding is sure to come in for the run and is one to watch with a view to handicaps in the future.

On the AW at Wolverhampton Keep It Classic returns in the 12f handicap at 7.15. He is on a recovery mission following a defeat when heavily backed on his last outing, when he lost all chance by sprinting through the first 3f and then not handling the bend.

If on his best behavior he may get redemption but with hosts of better betting opportunities in the week ahead I see no point in giving him another chance.

No Bet Recommended.
