Seren Star’s win at 40/1 on Saturday was the biggest priced Somerville Lodge winner this decade – there must be something in the water in Doncaster as that was also the venue for two previous 33/1 Haggas winners Yabher and Laafi.
It was the fillies last race and the victory will increase her value in the paddocks far more than the winning prize money. Connections owe much to jockey Cieren Fallon who gave the 4yo a magnificent ride.
Our only advice Montassib made sure we turned a profit on the day with a fast finishing 3rd in the Wentworth Stakes. Castle Cove as we suggested couldn’t deal with a year off the track and although well supported ran disappointingly.
No flat racing now for a week – plenty to look forward to and in the next seven days I will publish my Haggas 7 for 27 to follow. Also a P/L chart that will enable followers to track and record every recommendation throughout the AW winter campaign and the 2027 turf season.
