3 live chances Tuesday

The Haggas team send three to post on Tuesday Tom Marquand rides a couple at Lingfield and Cieren Fallon goes to Redcar.

This follows a Bank Holiday which went pretty much to the script we wrote – the gamble on Divine Knight never looking likely to be landed and the overnight move for First Principle into 2/1 weakened out to 4/1 as he did in the race not staying the 10f trip.

One of the maidens Romanticizing won well , although Daniel Tudhope did no favours to her handicap mark pushing her out to the line to win by 7l.

Sea Canary was another Haggas unraced 3yo backed into 6/4 that didn’t deliver. Hopefully though by now you are all aware this is more of lay than a betting opportunity.

The make up of the three runners on Tuesday is very similar and again by far the best advice is to watch without investment.

At Redcar in the 14.50 Maiden over 10f Hoseki has the third outing of her career after which she will get a handicap mark. This is not a strong race and a run in the mid 70’s would be good enough to win.

However i see no reason to break our No Bet in Maiden and Novice rule as the yards 3yo’s are still needing their first run of the season and the Haggas record in this type of the race at Redcar over the last 5 years is just 3-20.

No bet Recommended

The Lingfield turf track on the straight course features the biggest bias in UK Racing with getting a run against the stand rail from the off or in the final furlong as the leaders tire, is the winning position for 80-90% of the races.

On Tuesday in the 7f+ maiden at 19.24 Weffaag is likely to be short priced favourite and has the plum stands side draw in stall 5. The problem is that on his last start at Thirsk, when a beaten odds on favourite the son of Havana Grey completely blew the start. If he does that again it could be curtains. At the odds there is no need to break our Novices and Maiden No Bet Rule.

In the 7f handicap that closes the card at 20.24 Luminaire is also well drawn in stall 6 of 8. He returns after a break since January after 4 runs on the AW.

He has not shown any pace through the early part of his races and the race he won at Newcastle was ran at a crawl.

Victor Cee in 5 and Mighty Vega in 3 are confirmed pace setters and Luminaire could well be stuck behind horses waiting for a run in the final furlong. Hardy’s Hero was beaten for the yard in a very similar race over this trip earlier this month. Given the Somerville Lodge 3yo’s are still needing their first outing the risks are too high to warrant a bet.

No Bet Recommended.

Summary – A day when it would be no surprise if all 3 were able to win but with the ‘Haggas tax’ likely to be added to make the odds restrictive and with the heavy track bias at Lingfield – none are betting opportunities.
