Creative Queen an example of Haggas Value or not ?

The Newbury card on Tuesday appears to be going ahead despite the hot weather warning and provides William Haggas followers with an opportunity to back a well bred expensive Wathnan purchase in a Class 5 handicap off a mark of just 75. The bookies are on red alert not just because of the weather.

Creative Queen is 11/4 market leader in the 7.00 Class 5 7f handicap I think this is poor value here’s why:

She is by Mitole a high quality American dirt sprinter whose progeny has very limited success on turf in Europe.

She is a half sister to Valiant Force a 105 RPR rated six time winner in Ireland however those successes are confined to the AW.

Her best RPR was recorded over 6f on Soft ground. Her previous form on faster ground has not worked out well.

Haggas rarely targets sprint handicaps at Newbury with his developing 3yo’s only sending 2 horses to contest this type of race in 12 seasons. Both lost.

My feeling is that she has been found this 56-75 3yo + handicap where she can run against lesser opponents but getting the 3yo weight allowance meaning she is not forced to carry 10.0 +, giving her an increased chance of success. However, she was an 800,000 Arqana breeze up purchase as a 2yo and a win at this level will do little to add to her paddock value after her maiden win last time out at Yarmouth.

The temperatures are likely still to be above 30c even at 7.00pm which also adds to the risk factor and apart from being trained at Somerville Lodge there is very little evidence to justify her short price and No Bet is Recommended .
