Transformational Betting for 2026

Thursday and Friday Summary

Aside from our bet on Eternal Force on Thursday there are several other likely Somerville Lodge winners however the racing has cut up very badly due to the weather and there is nothing else of interest from betting purposes until Saturday.

On Wednesday Albaydaa was an awful price and then gave herself a mountain to climb with a slow start and getting trapped on the rails and unfortunately failed to get any black type.

On Thursday in the 1.15 at Newmarket’s reorganized meeting Darzah is a decent price at 11/2 in a Class 4 – 6 runner fillies handicap. However, she was disappointing when well backed last time out at Sandown and has been left on the same mark . The form of that race has worked out well but so has the form of the other 5 in a very trappy race.

She has the potential to improve and go close but with only two places available I have decided not to get involved.

Vanilla Skies makes a long awaited debut at 11.15 for her owner breeders the Lael Stables. She is well bred but in a small field there is no reason to break our no bet in Novice and Maiden rule.

Finally on Thursday Kahin has been sent north to Hamilton in search of a first win in the 7 runner maiden at 8.00, he has every chance of getting the win but will be short odds in the hands of Paul Mulrennan.

On Friday the Newmarket evening card is probably the least competitive ever staged at the track with six of the races having 5 runners or less. Yimmna in the 17.20 and Hardy’s Hero in the 19.35 both contest 3 runner races which are not betting opportunities.

In the 2.39 at Yarmouth Lady Rosalind is a speedily bred 2yo filly by Starman. She could be useful and is worth watching with an eye to the future. She has been given entries in several valuable sales races down the line.
