Sunday No Fizz after Flat Saturday

A real head scratcher of a day on Saturday. All week the Somerville Lodge horses have ran to form , which was also the case at Goodwood, Thirsk and Hamiliton on Saturday, but at Newmarket the 4 runners all run shockers including the 3 we backed.

Sometimes there is simply no explanation and on a day when the bookies recouped plenty of the losses incurred earlier in the week at Goodwood, the only option is to put it down as one of those bad days!

There were positives the brilliant run of Santorini Star going down by a nose in the Lillie Langtry and Realign who was an eye-catcher in the Stewards Cup being beaten just over 4L and is well handicapped to win a big sprint prize once the ground eases.

On Sunday Power Fizz runs at Chester in the 7f handicap at 3.52. He ran very badly for the first time in his career at Newcastle last time out, where he possibly needed the outing. However he has never been asked to run left handed round a tight bend and from stall 8 there is a lot of guesswork involved in whether he can run to form under these conditions.

He was put in as 3/1 market leader which was very skinny and I would be surprised if he went off less than 5/1.

No Bet Recommended.

The other runner is Sea the Storm who is pitched into the deep end in the German Oaks and will go off a huge price. She has been very disappointing since her maiden win at Wetherby

No Bet Recommended.

The yard is expected to back among the winners on Monday.
