The week started as expected either Al Qayed the only winner on the day. He was heavily backed into 4/7 but scrambled home by a nose which more than justified our no bet stance. The other two that had chances were both not up to the level required to win their contests but ran well.
Only two on Tuesday the very promising filly Sea La Rosa heads to Newcastle to contest the fillies novice stakes at 5.30. She should win this and is thought to have sufficient potential for an entry in the 2027 Irish 1000 Guineas. Unfortunately there are only 3 declarations and she will be odds on which rules her out as a betting opportunity.
She is filly that could be stakes level next year.
Antonova is a superbly bred Cheveley Park filly who makes her debut in the 1.50 Yarmouth. This race sees the debut of a Newmarket George Boughey trained ‘talking horse’ Cloak of Power and also a very promising Gosden filly – so Antonova is best watched first time out.
It will be watching brief for me on Tuesday.
